On the afternoon of Monday, December 21, 2015 email messages were received by City Council members threatening to “blow up the city council building.” No times, dates or specific locations were noted in the messages.
City staff and police department personnel met regarding these threats and have decided to continue with tonight’s scheduled city council meeting. The Burlington Police Department will be taking extra security measures for the meeting tonight and will continue to determine the credibility of these threats.
