Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission, in partnership with the City of Burlington, Des Moines County Public Health, and Downtown Partners, Inc. will set up a complete street demonstration project on Washington Street between N 4th and 5th Street in Downtown Burlington. It will include temporarily marked back in angled parking spots, enhanced crosswalks, bike and vehicle shared roadway, and curb extension bump outs. The demonstration project will be setting up on Monday, September 13th and will then be left in place until Monday, September 20th for the public to test out. The demonstration is funded by a grant through the Iowa Department of Public Health’s Physical Activity Access Program.

Members of the public are encouraged to take a short 5 minute survey to provide feedback on the demonstration project at  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Burlington_demonstration. SEIRPC staff will also be present at the Downtown Farmer’s Market on September 16th to answer any questions about the demonstration and hand out surveys. Hard copies of the survey will also be available at the City Hall beginning September 13th
