The Public Works Department announced today that on Thursday, August 27th, Gear Avenue will be closed from the intersection of Division Street approximately 250’ to the South for road repairs adjacent to the intersection (See image). This portion of the roadway will be reopened Thursday evening. This closure is associated with the West Avenue and Gear Avenue Dowel Bar Retrofit project. After this portion of work is complete, single lane closures with alternating traffic will resume. The overall project is expected to conclude sometime on the week of September 14th.
