The Public Works Directors Office announced today that starting at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, the City’s contractor will begin work on the 2017 Seal Coat Streets Reconstruction Project across Burlington. The contractor will be starting on South 14th Street and Park from Parkway to 12th, and will continue onto the next as one is completed. Construction will include the following streets in this portion of the project:
South 14th Street and Park from Parkway to 12th; Central from Sunset to Hedge; Dunham from 16th Street to Madison; 10th Street from Park to Hedge
This will result in temporary street closures and/or lane restrictions. The closures and restrictions are required to place additional crushed rock, rework the existing surface, and place new sealcoat surfacing. Once work begins on a street, there will be no parking signs posted on that street within the construction zone until the street surface is restored. Motorists should be cautious of trucks, equipment and workers in and around the work area.
Work is anticipated to take 2 to 4 weeks weather permitting.
