Have you ever wondered how the City functions behind the scenes? Have you ever asked yourself what happens to water when it goes down the drain, or where the water from your faucet comes from? Do you wonder how the Engineering Department prioritizes street repairs, or how Planning and Zoning reviews new developments? We'll tell you, during the Burlington City Academy!
This is a free nine-week series of classes designed to teach citizens about how their local government works for them. We will be going on tours of facilities and meeting the people behind the scenes to learn about what goes on day-to-day in these different city departments!
Classes are held weekly from 5:30 pm- 7:30 pm on Thursday evenings for 9 weeks starting in February. We encourage anyone applying to be available to attend most or all classes scheduled to get the most out of this academy. Applications open starting in January.
