What To Do When It Snows

Parking on Snow Routes

Citizens are reminded that an automatic parking prohibition will take effect on posted snow emergency routes when snow accumulation reaches 2". Cars parked on posted emergency routes at the time will be subject to ticketing and towing. The parking prohibition will remain in effect on posted emergency routes until it is canceled by the City after the storm. The Central Business District is not included in this parking prohibition unless declared in a specific Public Service Announcement.

Snow and Ice Removal from Sidewalks

All sidewalks must be completely cleared of snow and ice within 24 hours after storms. If walks are not cleared and the City receives a complaint, the City will clear the sidewalk and bill the property owner.

Dumping of Snow

Shoveled snow from private or public property may not be placed onto any portion of the traveled street or alley.
