To protect our
beautiful parks and to make your park visit more enjoyable, it is
unlawful for any person to do any of the following in the parks:
- To ride, drive or park any vehicle or horse on
the grass.
- Damage any property or plants in the parks.
- To pick or cut any wild or cultivated flower.
- To litter on the grounds.
- To use loud or obscene language.
- To disturb animals found in the parks.
- To wash vehicles in the parks
- To consume beer, wine, or other alcoholic
beverages in the park
Pets
in the Parks
Pets must be
on a leash. Animal waste must be picked up and disposed of in a
trash container.

- Use
of Bandshell
Individuals or
groups wanting to reserve the bandshell for other events can call the
Parks Office for further information. The fee is $50.
Park
Activities and Facilities
- Crapo
Park - Ice Skating (Seasonal)
The
Burlington Parks and Recreation Department offers Ice Skating at Lake
Starker located inside of Crapo Park as weather permits.
- Dankwardt Park - Disc Golf Course
An eighteen hole disc golf course is located in Dankwardt Park. The
course begins at the park entrance off of Madison Street and winds
through Dankwardt Park offering a challenging and scenic Disc Golf
experience. For league or tournament information please call 753-8134.
- Dankwardt Park - Archery Range
A 40-yard three-lane archery range is available for archers during
daylight hours. No broad heads are allowed.
- Dankwardt Park - Inline Hockey
A regulation sized Inline Hockey Rink is located within Dankwardt Park.

- Dankwardt Park – Basketball Hoops
Half-court outdoor basketball hoops are located on the Inline Hockey
Rink.
- Tennis Courts
Tennis courts are located in Crapo Park, Dankwardt Park and Perkins
Park.
Donations and
Memorials for Parks
The Parks and Recreation Department accepts donations that can be used
as memorials. The tax deductible donations can be used for trees,
shrubs, flower beds, benches, tables, drinking fountains, sidewalks,
playgrounds, shelters or other recreation facilities as identified in
the Parks plans or by Parks staff. Contact Phil Collier at 753-8117 for
more information.
Weddings and Other Special
Uses of Parks
Anyone wanting to reserve a location in a Park for weddings or other
events must have approval by the Director of Parks and Recreation. The
daily fee is $50.00
If use of the park will include a tent provided by the renter, the fee
will be $100.00. The exact location of the tent must be approved by the
Parks Director to avoid damage to underground utilities.
