Special Meeting No. 23

December 27, 1999

The Burlington City Council met in special session at 4:30 p.m. with Mayor Scott, Council Members Henry, Thomas, and Wright present. Council Member Edwards participated via electronic communications.

SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE ACKNOWLEDGED

RESOLUTIONS:

1. Resolution Awarding Contract for 2-1/2 Ton, Single Axle Dump Truck for the Street/Sewer Division in the Public Works Department

DISCUSSION: The City Manager stated that the reason for having a special meeting to purchase a 2-1/2 ton, single axle dump truck was that December 27, 1999 was the last date to purchase the vehicle with a State bid. He stated that the City would receive a significant discount by purchasing the vehicle with a State bid. He stated that the dump truck replaces two vehicles currently in use by the Wastewater Treatment Facility with one vehicle. He stated that the dump truck would be used by the Street/Sewer Division of the Public Works Department. He stated that the old vehicles would be sold at a City auction. All present had opportunity to speak and nothing additional was filed in the office of the City Clerk.
