Special Meeting No. 17

March 8, 1999

The Burlington City Council met in special session at 6:00 p.m. with Mayor Scott, Council Members Edwards, Henry, and Thomas, present. Council Member Wright participated via electronic communications.

SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE ACKNOWLEDGED

RESOLUTIONS:

Resolution Awarding Contract for Adopting Budget for Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2000

DISCUSSION: The City Manager stated that the proposed budget for fiscal year 1999-2000 was $35,910,839.00, a decrease of $2,095,001.00. He stated that the proposed property tax levy was $12.28, an increase of $.15. He further stated that the Finance Director was present should Council have any questions. Mayor Scott thanked the Finance Director and those involved in the budget process for an excellent job in preparing the budget. He further stated that he was glad to see the City Manager and the Finance Director work so well together on the budget. All present had opportunity to speak and nothing additional was filed in the office of the City Clerk.
