Special Meeting No. 9

July 13, 1998

The Burlington City Council met in special session at 4:30 p.m. with Mayor Scott, Council Members Edwards, Henry, Thomas, and Wright present.

SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE ACKNOWLEDGED

RESOLUTIONS:

1. Resolution Fixing the Time and Place for Receiving and Canvassing Bids and Considering and Passing a Resolution for the Sale and Issuance of $5,245,000 General Obligation Corporate Purpose Bonds, Series 1998A, and Providing for the Advertisement of Such Sale

DISCUSSION: The Finance Director stated that the City Council has held public hearings on all three bond issues. He stated that the proposed Resolutions provide for the sale and issuance of the bonds. He stated that the bids would be opened in the Finance office at 1:00 p.m., on July 20, 1998. He stated that the Council would award the sale of the bonds at the council meeting on July 20, 1998. He further stated that Rex Ramsay of Piper Jaffray would be at the Council Meeting to review the bids with Council. All present had opportunity to speak and nothing additional was filed in the office of the City Clerk.

(VOTE: 5 - "AYES") ADOPTED

2. Resolution Fixing the Time and Place for Receiving and Canvassing Bids and Considering and Passing a Resolution for the Sale and Issuance of $950,000 General Obligation Corporate Purpose Bonds, Series 1998B (Taxable), and Providing for the Advertisement for Such Sale

DISCUSSION: None.

(VOTE: 5 - "AYES") ADOPTED

3. Resolution To Fix A Date for the Sale and Issuance of $3,050,000 Sewer Revenue Bonds, Series 1998C, and Providing for the Advertisement of Such Sale

DISCUSSION: None.
