The Burlington City Council met in special session September 29, 1997 at 4:15 p.m. with Mayor
Sandell, Council Members Heland, Henry, Scott and Thomas, present.
SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE ACKNOWLEDGED
RESOLUTIONS:
1. Resolution Awarding Contract for the 1997 Residential Street Improvements (Sealcoat to
Pavement)
DISCUSSION: The Acting City Manager stated that the contract for the 1997 Residential Street Improvements (Sealcoat to Pavement) would be awarded to the low bidder, M. J. Daly Construction, in the amount of $224,495.52. He stated that the bid was $100,000.00 below the City Engineer's estimate. He stated that the bids ranged in price from $391,207.70 to $224,495.52. Council Member Heland questioned how the project would be funded. The Acting City Manager stated that the project would be funded by assessment and road use tax monies. Council Member Henry stated that he was glad to see the project go forward. All present had opportunity to speak and nothing additional was filed in the office of the City Clerk.
