BURLINGTON, IOWA, CITY COUNCIL

Special Meeting No. 36

September 5, 1997

The Burlington City Council met in Special/Executive Session at 8:00 a.m. with Mayor Sandell, Council Members Heland, Henry, Scott and Thomas, present. Council Member Thomas arrived at the meeting during the executive discussion.

SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE ACKNOWLEDGED

MOTION: To go into Executive Session for the purpose of: To discuss the purchase of particular real estate only where premature disclosure could be reasonably expected to increase the price the governmental body would have to pay for that property as per State Code, Chapter 21.5.1.(j).

DISCUSSION: Council Member Henry questioned the need to go into executive session in regard to the purchase of particular real estate. After discussion by Council the City Clerk took roll call to go into executive session. The motion was approved three to one with Council Member Henry voting against the motion. All present had opportunity to speak and nothing additional was filed in the office of the City Clerk.

(VOTE: 3 - "AYES" SCOTT, HELAND, SANDELL

MOTION: That the Executive Session be adjourned, and Council go back into Special Meeting.

DISCUSSION: None.

(VOTE: 5 - "AYES") CARRIED
