The Burlington City Council met in special session on July 1, 1997 at 4:15 p.m. with Mayor Sandell, Council Members Heland, Henry, Scott and Thomas, present.

SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE ACKNOWLEDGED

RESOLUTIONS:

1. Resolution Awarding Contract for a Portion of the 1997 Memorial Auditorium Banquet Room Improvements

DISCUSSION: The City Manager stated that the special meeting was called to award the carpet and lighting fixtures portion of the 1997 Memorial Auditorium Banquet Room Improvements due to time sensitivity. She further stated that entire project of the 1997 Memorial Auditorium Banquet Room Improvements (approximately $130,000.00) will be funded by the Witte Foundation, however, due to the way its trust income is set up, it can't make a large contribution all at one time. She further stated that the City could up front the money, which would be paid back over two or three years with interest. She further stated that Catfish Bend Casinos could potentially be willing to help fund the 1997 Memorial Auditorium Banquet Room Improvements. All present had opportunity to speak and nothing additional was filed in the office of the City Clerk.
