Pride of the Community
Pride of the Community

Development Department Home Staff Contacts

The Pride of the Community is a program set up by the City of Burlington to recognize residents for the high level of maintenance and/or improvements to their property.  These residents have improved the curb appeal of their property and also have helped to beautify the surrounding neighborhood and the community as a whole.

A property may be nominated based on the appearance of the home, landscaping of the property, or the overall high-quality appearance of the property.  Properties that stand out as being highly maintained and cared for are to be recognized as prized assets to this community.

To recognize a property, complete the nomination form found below or in the Community Development Department on the first floor of City Hall.
Nominations will be accepted year round.  The City Planning Commission will review nominations throughout the year and recognize those properties and residents that stand out and go above and beyond in the care for the appearance and upkeep of their property.  This is a chance for the City to recognize those individuals that are improving the quality and pride of the City of Burlington.

Residents that receive a Pride of the Community award are invited to receive a certificate at a City Council meeting and a temporary sign will be posted on their property recognizing their selection and award.  We encourage any resident to nominate your neighbor, someone you don't know, or a property that particularly catches your eye anywhere in the community.  It is important to take pride in our community and to recognize those individuals that foster this pride in the City of Burlington.
