Approvals for various
permits or petitions go to different Boards or Commissions for
consideration. In order to be considered by such Boards or
Commissions all information and relevant fees must be submitted to the
Development Department in advance to allow for proper procedures,
notification, and review. |
| The Planning
Commission
makes a recommendation for approval to the City
Council. |
| The
Zoning Board
has final approval on the City level,
with any appeals of their decisions going to District Court. |
| The
Historic
Preservation Commission considers exterior
alterations/modifications to
properties that are located within the local historic district
(Heritage Hill). |
| The
Enterprise Zone
Commission considers
business / industrial / housing developments that are located within
the Burlington Enterprise Zone, which may be eligible for tax benefits
or refunds. |
| Please
call the Development
Department to see when an item must be submitted to be considered at
the next meeting or for more information on each Board or Commission.
There are certain
permits which are considered and approved at Staff
level. The time-frame for consideration and approval depends
on the amount of information that is required to be reviewed by staff
and the number of
other projects that are currently being reviewed by staff. |
