2009 Earth Day - April 18, 2009
The Keep Burlington Beautiful Committee organizes the annual Earth Day cleanup in the Burlington area.  The Committee consists of representatives from the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois, Boy Scouts of Mississippi Valley Council, Des Moines County Conservation, The Hawk Eye, Downtown Partners, and the City of Burlington.  The Keep Burlington Beautiful Committee sponsors the Earth Day cleanup every year on the third Saturday in April.  This day offers residents and volunteers a chance to help clean up their community by picking up litter and trash from public places in the area.  

The Earth Day cleanup is an effort to beautify the community by picking up trash, litter, junk, tires, and anything else the volunteers can retrieve.  Earth Day is intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the Earth's environment.  Please click on the following links for more information on Earth Day:
