CHAPTER 28

REGIONAL FAMILY RECREATION COMPLEX
ADVISORY COMMITTEE

28.01 Established

28.01    ESTABLISHED. There is established an Advisory Committee for the Regional Family Recreation Complex.

28.02    MEMBERSHIP; TERM. The Committee consists of the following seven (7) members: one softball league member, one soccer league member, one volleyball league member, one at-large member, one Chamber of Commerce member, and the General Manager and Parks and Recreation Director, who shall serve as ex officio members. Five (5) members appointed by the Council shall serve two-year terms from January 1 through December 31 each year.

28.03    VACANCIES. In the event a vacancy should occur, the Council shall appoint a new member to fill the unexpired term. If a member fails to attend two (2) meetings in a row without an excused absence, that person may be requested to resign and a vacancy may be declared.

28.04    CHAIRPERSON AND SECRETARY. The Advisory Committee shall, at its first meeting following January 1 of each year, appoint a Chairperson and a Secretary from its membership.

28.05    MEETINGS. The Advisory Committee shall meet semiannually or at the call of the Chairperson.

28.06    COMPENSATION. The members of the Advisory Committee shall serve as such without compensation.

28.07    POWERS AND DUTIES. The Advisory Committee shall have the following powers and duties:

  1. To recommend and work with staff on the establishment of or changes in policies and fees for the Regional Family Recreation Complex;

  2. To encourage and assist in fund raising and volunteer manpower for the development and maintenance of the complex facilities;

  3. To work with staff on methods to survey customer satisfaction and means to improve customer satisfaction.
