BOUNDARIES

3.01    VOTING PRECINCTS. The following precincts and voting locations, for purposes of administration by the Commissioner of Elections, are hereby established:

1. Precinct # 1T - Oak Street School (includes Tama Township).

All that part of the City encompassed by a line commencing at the intersection of the centerline of Mercer Street extended and the North City limits; thence southerly along Mercer Street centerline extended and the west property line of the Burlington Golf Club to the centerline of Bittersweet Place; thence southerly along said centerline of Bittersweet Place extended to the centerline of the Burlington Northern Railroad Tracks; thence southeasterly along the centerline of said tracks to the centerline of Spring Street; thence easterly along Spring Street centerline to the centerline of Osborn Street; thence northerly along Osborn Street centerline to the centerline of Brooks Street; thence northeasterly along Brooks Street centerline to the centerline of Linden Street; thence easterly along Linden Street centerline to the centerline of 9th Street; thence northerly along the centerlines of 9th Street and Viaduct Streets, and Des Moines Avenue to the City limits; thence (generally) northerly and westerly along the corporate lines including all of the unincorporated area of Tama Township to the point of beginning.

2. Precinct #2 - North Hill School.

All that part of the City encompassed by a line commencing at the southernmost intersection of the City limits and the centerline of Des Moines Avenue; thence southerly along said centerline and the centerline of 9th Street to the centerline of Linden Street; thence westerly along Linden Street centerline to the centerline of Brooks Street; thence southwesterly along Brooks Street centerline to the centerline of Osborn Street; thence southerly along Osborn Street centerline to the centerline of Spring Street; thence westerly along Spring Street centerline to the centerline of the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks; thence southeasterly along centerline of said tracks to the extension of Angular Street to the Mississippi River; thence easterly along Angular Street extended to the center of the main channel of the Mississippi River; thence northerly along the center of said main channel to the North City limits; thence (generally) westerly along the City limits to the point of beginning.

3. Precinct #3 - Trinity Lutheran Church.

All that part of the City encompassed by a line commencing at the intersection of the centerlines of Division Street and 9th Street; thence northerly along the centerline of 9th Street to the centerline of Market Street; thence westerly along Market Street centerline to the centerline of Central Avenue; thence northerly along Central Avenue centerline to the centerline of the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks; thence northwesterly along centerline of said tracks to the midpoint line of the natural drainageway between Washington and Agency Streets; thence southwesterly along the midpoint of said drainageway to its intersection with the centerline of Plane Street (just north of Smith Street); thence southerly along Plane Street centerline to the centerline of Spray Street; thence easterly along Spray Street centerline to the centerline of Gunnison Street; thence north along Gunnison Street centerline to the centerline of Amelia Street; thence east along Amelia Street centerline to the centerline of Marshall Street; thence south along the Marshall Street centerline to the centerline of Maple Street; thence east along Maple Street centerline to the centerline of Higbee Ravine; thence northeasterly along Higbee Ravine centerline to the centerline of Division Street; thence easterly along said centerline to the point of beginning.

4. Precinct #4 - Grimes School (4 and 5 Combined Voting Site).

All that part of the City encompassed by a line commencing at the intersection of the centerlines of Division Street and 9th Street; thence westerly along Division Street centerline to the centerline of Higbee Ravine; thence southwesterly along Higbee Ravine centerline to the centerline of Maple Street; thence easterly along Maple Street centerline to the centerline of Central Avenue; thence southerly along Central Avenue centerline to the centerline of Pine Street; thence northeasterly along Pine Street centerline to the centerline of Third Street; thence northerly along Third Street centerline to the centerline of Locust Street; thence northeast along Locust Street centerline to the centerline of Main Street; thence southerly along Main Street centerline to the centerline of Sewage Treatment Road; thence southeasterly and northeasterly along Sewage Treatment Road to the center of the river channel; thence northerly along the center of said channel to the centerline of Angular Street extended; thence southwesterly along the centerline of Angular Street and extended to the center of the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks; thence northwesterly along the centerline of said tracks to the centerline of Central Avenue; thence southerly along Central Avenue centerline to the centerline of Market Street; thence easterly along Market Street centerline to the centerline of 9th Street; thence southerly along 9th Street centerline to the point of beginning.

5. Precinct #5 - Grimes School (4 and 5 Combined Voting Site).

All that part of the City encompassed by a line commencing at the intersection of the centerlines of Central Avenue and Pine Street; thence southerly along Central Avenue centerline to the centerline of South Street; thence easterly along South Street centerline to the centerline of 10^th Street; thence southerly along 10^th Street centerline to the centerline of Denmark Street; thence easterly along Denmark Street centerline to the centerline of Madison Avenue; thence southerly along Madison Avenue centerline to the centerline of Harrison Avenue; thence easterly along Harrison Avenue centerline and the centerline of Harrison Avenue extended to the middle of the main channel of the Mississippi River; thence northerly along the middle of said main channel to its intersection with the centerline of Sewage Treatment Road extended; thence southwesterly and northwesterly along the centerline of Sewage Treatment Road extended and Sewage Treatment Road centerline to the centerline of Main Street; thence northerly along the Main Street centerline to the centerline of Locust Street; thence southwest along Locust Street centerline to the centerline of Third Street; thence southerly along Third Street centerline to the centerline of Pine Street; thence westerly along Pine Street to the place of beginning.

6. Precinct #6 - James Madison School.

All that part of the City encompassed by a line commencing at the intersection of the centerline of Harrison Avenue extended and the middle of the main channel of the Mississippi River; thence westerly along the centerline of Harrison Avenue extended and the centerline of Harrison Avenue to the centerline of Central Avenue; thence southerly along Central Avenue centerline to the centerline of Dunham Street; thence westerly along Dunham Street centerline to the centerline of 13^th Street; thence southerly along 13^th Street centerline to the centerline of Park Avenue; thence westerly along Park Avenue centerline to the centerline of 14^th Street; thence southerly along 14^th Street centerline to the centerline of Hillary Street; thence westerly along Hillary Street centerline to the centerline of Summer Street; thence southerly along Summer Street centerline to the South City limits line; thence easterly along the City limits line to the centerline of South 14^th Street; thence north along the centerline of South 14^th Street to the Waterworks property; thence easterly to the east property line of the Waterworks property; thence north along the eastern line of the Waterworks property to the centerline of Koestner Street; thence east along the centerline of Koestner Street to the centerline of Madison Avenue; thence southwesterly along Madison Avenue to the centerline of Nikona Place Road; thence easterly along the centerline of Nikona Place Road to the east section line of Section 17; thence north along said section line to the centerline of Koestner Street; thence easterly along Koestner Street extended to the centerline to the Mississippi River main channel; thence northerly along the centerline of said channel to the point of beginning.

7. Precinct #7 - Perkins School.

All that part of the City encompassed by a line commencing at the intersection of the centerlines of South Street and 10^th Street; thence westerly along South Street centerline to the centerline of Perkins Avenue; thence southerly along Perkins Avenue centerline to the centerline of Louisa Street; thence westerly along Louisa Street centerline to the centerline of Garfield Avenue; thence southerly along Garfield Avenue centerline to the centerline of Barret Street; thence easterly along Barret Street centerline to the centerline of Olive Street; thence southerly along Olive Street centerline to the centerline of Hedge Avenue; thence easterly along Hedge Avenue centerline to the centerline of Summer Street; thence southerly along Summer Street centerline to the centerline of Hillary Street; thence easterly along Hillary Street centerline to the centerline of 14^th Street; thence northerly along 14^th Street centerline to the centerline of Park Avenue; thence easterly along Park Avenue centerline to the centerline of 13^th Street; thence northerly along 13^th Street centerline to the centerline of Dunham Street; thence easterly along Dunham Street centerline to the centerline of Central Avenue; thence northerly along Central Avenue to the centerline of Harrison Avenue; thence easterly along Harrison Avenue centerline to the centerline of Madison Avenue; thence northerly along Madison Avenue centerline to the centerline of Denmark Street; thence westerly along Denmark Street centerline to the centerline of 10^th Street to the point of beginning.

All that part of the City encompassed by a line commencing at the intersection of the centerlines of Spray Street and Gunnison Street; thence westerly along Spray Street centerline to the centerline of Plane Street; thence southerly along Plane Street centerline to the centerline of West Avenue; thence easterly along West Avenue centerline to the centerline of Starr Avenue to the centerline of Louisa Street; thence easterly along Louisa Street centerline to the centerline of Garfield Avenue; thence south along Garfield Avenue centerline to the centerline of Louisa Street; thence easterly along Louisa Street centerline to the centerline of Perkins Avenue; thence northerly to the centerline of South Street; thence easterly along South Street centerline to the centerline of Central Avenue; thence northerly along Central Avenue centerline to the centerline of Maple Street; thence westerly along Maple Street centerline to the centerline of Marshall Street; thence north along Marshall Street centerline to the centerline of Amelia Street; thence west along Amelia Street centerline to the centerline of Gunnison Street; thence south along Gunnison Street centerline to the point of beginning.

9. Precinct #9 - Messiah Lutheran Church – 2411 West Avenue.

All that part of the City encompassed by a line commencing at the intersection of the centerline of Division Street and Plane Street; thence west along Division Street centerline to the centerline of the unnamed creek forming the west boundary of census block 102 in census tract 7; thence southerly along said unnamed creek centerline to the centerline of Sunrise Lane extended; thence westerly along the centerline of Sunrise Lane extended and Sunrise Lane to the centerline of Meadowbrook Drive; thence west along Meadowbrook Drive centerline to the centerline of Terrace Drive; thence south and southwesterly along Terrace Drive centerline to the centerline of West Avenue; thence westerly along West Avenue centerline to the centerline of Roosevelt Avenue (Hwy. 61); thence south along Highway 61 as extended due south to the centerline of Hunt Road and the City limits line; thence (generally) southerly and easterly along the City limits line to the northernmost point at which it intersects the centerline of Summer Street; thence northerly along Summer Street centerline to the centerline of Hedge Avenue; thence westerly along Hedge Avenue centerline to the centerline of Olive Street; thence northerly along Olive Street centerline to the centerline of Barret Street; thence westerly along Barret Street centerline to the centerline of Garfield Avenue; thence northerly along Garfield Avenue centerline to the centerline of Louisa Street; thence westerly along Louisa Street centerline to the centerline of Starr Avenue; thence northerly along Starr Avenue centerline to the centerline of West Avenue; thence westerly along West Avenue centerline to the centerline of Plane Street; thence northerly along Plane Street centerline to the centerline of Division Street; thence westerly to the point of beginning.

10. Precinct #10 - Burlington High School – 421 Terrace Drive.

All that part of the City encompassed by a line commencing at the intersection of the centerline of Division Street and Plane Street; thence west along Division Street centerline to the centerline of the unnamed creek forming the west boundary of census block 102 in census tract 7; thence southerly along said unnamed creek centerline to the centerline of Sunrise Lane extended; thence westerly along the centerline of Sunrise Lane extended and Sunrise Lane to the centerline of Meadowbrook Drive; thence west along Meadowbrook Drive centerline to the centerline of Terrace Drive; thence south and southwesterly along Terrace Drive centerline to the centerline of West Avenue; thence westerly along West Avenue centerline to the centerline of Roosevelt Avenue (Hwy. 61); thence south along Highway 61 as extended due south to the centerline of Hunt Road and the City limits line; thence southwesterly along Hunt Road centerline and following the City limits southern and western limits in a northwesterly direction and northerly direction to the intersection with the centerline of West Avenue; thence (generally) westerly, northerly, and easterly along the City limits line to the centerline of U.S. Highway 34; thence easterly along U.S. Highway 34 centerline to the centerline of Curran Street; thence southerly along Curran Street centerline to the centerline of Valley Street; thence easterly along Valley Street centerline to the centerline of Plane Street; thence southerly along Plane Street centerline to the centerline of Division Street; thence westerly to the point of beginning.

11. Precinct #11 - Autumn Heights – 2830 Winegard Drive.

All that part of the City encompassed by a line commencing at the intersection of the centerline of Plane Street and the middle of the natural drainageway which Plane Street crosses just north of Smith Street; thence northeasterly along the middle of said drainageway to the point at which it intersects the centerline of the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks (between Agency and Washington Street); thence northwesterly along the centerline of said tracks to the point at which it intersects the natural drainageway (ravine) which extends southwesterly towards Mt. Pleasant Street (said intersection is near the point at which Bittersweet Place extended intersects the tracks); thence southwesterly along the middle of said drainageway to the point at which it intersects the centerline of Mt. Pleasant Street (near the intersection of Mt. Pleasant Street and vacated Budde Street); thence northwesterly along Mt. Pleasant Street centerline to the easternmost point at which it intersects the City limits; thence southerly along the City limits line to the centerline of U.S. Highway 34; thence easterly along said centerline to the centerline of Curran Street; thence southerly along Curran Street centerline to the centerline of Valley Street; thence easterly along Valley Street centerline to the centerline of Plane Street; thence southerly along Plane Street centerline to the point of beginning.

12. Precinct #12 – Concordia Church – 2901 Cliff Road.

All that part of the City lying north and west of a line commencing at the intersection of the centerline of Mercer Street extended and the North City limits; thence southerly along Mercer Street centerline extended and the west property line of the Burlington Golf Club to the centerline of Bittersweet Place; thence southerly along said centerline and the centerline of Bittersweet Place extended to the centerline of the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks; thence southwesterly along the natural drainageway which extends from the tracks to the intersection of Mt. Pleasant Street and vacated Budde Street (approximately) to the intersection of said drainageway with the centerline of Mt. Pleasant Street; thence westerly along said centerline to the City limits; thence (generally) northerly and easterly along the City limits to the point of beginning.
