Summer Day Camp

Fun at the Park
The City of Burlington Parks and Recreation Department is offering an excellent alternative to daycare through our summer camp program.
With the City of Burlington Summer Day Camp, your children will be entertained all summer. Camp activities include group games, crafts and field trips. The summer camp will include two to three field trips each week. On Tuesdays, we will take a field trip to the Dankwardt Park Swimming Pool. On Wednesdays we will attend the Summer Movie Series at the Westland 10 Theatres. On Thursdays, we will take a field trip to a local area attraction. These attractions may include Huck’s Harbor, Kenny’s Roller Ranch, Happy Joe’s, the Recycling Center, and Starr’s Cave.
The program is available for students entering 1st grade - 5th Grade.  The program runs throughout the summer for 10 weeks and is held at Perkins Park. The first day of camp will begin on June 6, 2016.

Registration begins March 2, 2016 and fills up fast!  For additional information, please call Tabetha Miller 319-753-8131 or email.
What to Expect
On the first day of Summer Camp, the campers will learn our camp expectations and be given the opportunity to meet each other and make new friends. We will have many icebreaker games during the first week, which will give everyone a chance to get comfortable and meet new people.  Lunch and snacks are provided daily.

During and after the first week, your children will become more comfortable around each other and we will move into a more structured schedule.  Each day will feature games and activities to keep your children happy and healthy as well as activities to give them a chance to slow down such as arts and crafts and board games.
